Unfortunately, I'm about 3 months too late for the lyric "What the hell am I doing drinking in L.A. at 26?"

Business trip imminent. How did I get to 27 without ever having been shipped out of the country with work?

Sunday: 10:30->18:00
Monday: 10:00->23:00
Tuesday: 09:00->22:00
Wednesday: 10:00->01:00
Thursday: 09:00->19:00

For the next 8 days, we're talking similar, if not worse, hours. At the end of that, we have to deliver a product to the US. I asked what the exact shipping deadline for the machines was, and was told that we weren't shipping machines, just software. And we'd get our guy in the states to build the machines. Our marketing guy in the States. I objected. Fucked if I'm working those hours and then letting a marketing guy fuck it over. So I said we really needed a technical person to set them up

"Did you just volunteer?"

Oh fuck.

Dunno how long I'm going for, probably less than a week. Any L.A. HuSi members out there?

Was supposed to be going to Dublin next Thursday for a Leonard Cohen tribute gig with some big name performers. It was a birthday present. But I'm too busy to go. Rather like the Faithless gig I was supposed to go to a while back. At least this time it won't go completely to waste though. MGM is taking the tickets.

3 months and some change now. Most unlike me.

No actual life-related news. I don't have time for it.

Absolutely. I do feel sorry for the permie doing the same hours though.

You might just end up rich. Which seems to help in Modern Ireland.
No work.

too busy to go? by Merekat (2.00 / 0) #3 Fri Sep 29, 2006 at 07:47:04 AM EST
To busy for a quick beer? Which bit of LA? Husband is recently returned from the area so some guidebook lending may be possible if arrangable.

Hard to say, but probably too busy even for beer. by Evil Cloaked User (2.00 / 0) #4 Fri Sep 29, 2006 at 07:49:07 AM EST
What time would you be about, and what part of the city are you in for the day?

About 15mins walk from the centre, and I should be free from 15:30ish until last train. No worries. I can easily bring the book and you can text me on the day if you think you can make it at all.

while you're in LA. I can think of a few LA area Husi folk, but I won't blow their cover.

I have yet to be shipped out of the county for work, but I have my passport all set up and ready to go.

Never. There was talk once a while ago of me going to the States for a week for some (utterly pointless) meetings, but luckily I managed to wriggle out of it.

(Trust me, the company I'd have been in, one of us wouldn't have made it back alive if I'd gone)

This is not a psychotic episode. It is a cleansing moment of clarity.
